Monument to the flown - Kats
Along the dike, where old trees once stood, several substantial tree trunks have been preserved as a monument to the former flight route of bats. One of these trunks has been transformed into a work of art called 'Monument for the Flown,' created in cooperation with the people of Katsen.
This unique artwork provides temporary shelter to birds and insects that previously resided in the old trees. After five years, during which it has struggled against the elements, it is due for a refurbishment. The birdhouses will be refurbished and put back in place in spring.
