Naturally, you will find an exhibition of geometric-abstract art at the Mondrian House in Amersfoort. A total of no less than 114 artworks by well-known artists, such as Jan Schoonhoven, Peter Struycken, Ben Akkerman, Cesar Domela Nieuwenhuis, Carel Visser and Joost Baljeu.
But the Mondrian House also houses nine naturalistic canvases from Mondrian's early period. For although he became best known for his abstract works with primary colours, early in his career the painter mainly painted landscapes and cityscapes. He drew inspiration from the nature around him.
The Mondrian House organises changing interactive activities for young and old. Check the website to see which activities are currently on offer.
