The mill was built in 1878 for Willem Stevens. After that, it changed hands regularly. In 1962, the mill was bought and restored by the Nijhof family. The ground floor and the first attic were then converted into living quarters. After that, the mill turned only occasionally.
In 1973, a house was built next door for permanent residence. At that time, the condition of the mill was so bad that it could no longer turn. Decay set in until the mill was restored in 1990. After this restoration, it runs more frequently but a new problem arises. There are many tall trees around the mill, which largely take away the wind catch.
It was not until 1998 that this situation came to an end. In that year, the then owner had the trees removed. A separate entrance to the mill was also built, eliminating the need for visitors to pass through the adjoining hall.
Since 2002, the mill has again had two pairs of millstones, restoring the pre-1962 situation. The mill is regularly operated by a volunteer miller.
