As early as 1872, the railway bridge over the Hollands Diep was built. To make crossing possible for regular traffic in addition to the train, a road bridge was also built across the river in 1936. The view here is beautiful and the landscape captures the imagination.
In 1978, the Moerdijk Bridge Monument was placed here to commemorate the construction of the railway and traffic bridge. The monument is made of 2 huge bridge girders, thus rising powerfully above the landscape and Hollands Diep.
