The municipality bought the mill, demolished it and built a new mill for the old owners on Adelaarstraat with the same name, only now spelled Rijn en Zon. Construction in 1912-1913 used parts of the walk tower mill De Meiboom" on the Paardeveld, demolished in 1912.
After suffering storm damage in 1948, the mill was severely neglected and for years its bare sails formed a desolate sight. The shop downstairs housed a pet supplies business until the major restoration in 1977.
After the restoration was completed in 1979, grain was again milled in the mill with wind power. Currently, the shop area on the ground floor houses an organic butcher's shop.
