Molen de Hoop in Giesbeek was built as a belt mill in 1888. That means the mill was built on a hill, belt, allowing wagons to drive under the mill (through the hill) and out again on the other side.
After being badly damaged during World War II, the mill was restored in 1956 and the belt also disappeared. Finally, in 1981, the municipality of Angerlo turned Molen de Hoop into a tower mill.
The shop at the mill is open to visitors on Saturday mornings.
