This open standard mill has a centuries-old history. The mill, probably an oil mill at the time, predates 1550. In 1857, the mill was moved to Kruiningen, given a dwelling and a stable and put into use as a corn mill.
The mill fell into disrepair in 1945 and was further damaged in a storm in 1951. During the 1953 flood disaster, sandbags kept the mill in place. But in 1989, on the initiative of association De Zeeuwse Molen, the mill was moved to Waarde. To this day, volunteers keep the mill running on Saturdays.
