This originally belt mill was built in 1849 for miller Couwenberg. He saw the mill burn down in September 1881, but it was immediately rebuilt.
During the liberation of Kaatsheuvel in October 1944, the mill was strafed by the British, as it was suspected that the Germans had an observation post in the cap. A V1, an unmanned aircraft used as a bomb by the Germans, also struck nearby, causing further damage.
In 1994, the mill was restored by its owner and enthusiasts. To get out of this very high cost, a restaurant was set up at the bottom of the mill. A shrapnel from World War II was left in the restoration.
On 1 May 1998, the mill turned again for the first time in 44 years.
