On 22 March 1945, Nijverdal was the victim of a mistaken bombing, which killed 74 inhabitants. Since 2010, the Memory Freedom Museum has been located at this spot. In this museum, you will not only learn about the history of the Second World War, but also about the consequences of the war on society and what restriction of freedom does to people.
