This unique nature reserve consists of marsh and grassland in the floodplain of the Pannerdensch canal. Konik horses and Galloway cattle roam freely here. The landscape is so beautiful that it is worth a visit in all seasons. It is also special in that it is one of the first areas in the Netherlands whose management is paid for by private companies. The Loowaard nature reserve is part of the Gelderse Poort, which stretches from Lobith on the German border to Bemmel and the north-east of Nijmegen.
