In the years 1779-1780, two polder mills were built to dry a depleted pond and then to keep the polder at the desired level.
Nowadays, the mill bends the Veender and Lijkerpolder together with the Lijker Mill I. It functions as an auxiliary pumping station and is used for extreme flooding. The Lijkerpolder has approximately 540 hectares. The head is approx. 4.20 m.
Special: Together with Lijker Mill I, these mills form the only twelve-sided mills in the Netherlands.
