The Liberation Monument, a sculpture commemorating the liberation of the village in 1944, stands in the centre of Liempde. The statue shows a figure that symbolises freedom and recalls the joy and relief that the liberation brought. The pedestal bears a Bible verse from 1 Samuel 17:47. Below it are the names of the nine war victims from the village of Liempde.

The statue was designed by Hans Claesen and unveiled on 5 May 1956.
