On an embankment in the northern corner of the city, close to the TV tower, the mill at the former 's-Heer Hendrikskinderenpoort rises high above the built-up area. This is the only remaining mill of the 11 mills that Goes once counted. The text on the damaged facade stone at the entrance to De Koornbloem refers to its founders. The keystones above the entrances also read: anno 1801. The mill with five attics has never been inhabited. A garage was built on the north side with a dwelling house next to it. A grist mill used to stand here until a house was built in 1867. Grain was still milled regularly until 1967. In 1970, the mill, which was bought by the municipality of Goes in 1954, was restored. A thorough restoration also took place in 1995.
