Since the beginning of its exhibition activities, the Koningskerkje has grown into a valued platform for visual artists and visitors. The sober, modest interior together with its unique lighting makes the Koningskerkje a special exhibition space.
Every year, two long-running exhibitions are organised, where professional artists exhibit their works for five weekends. Additionally, an average of five short exhibitions take place annually under the title 'Kunst op Zich(t)', where amateur and professional artists can present their work.
Moreover, the Koningskerkje is one of the participating locations of the Chapel Route, in which a biennial themed exhibition is organised in various chapels and small churches in the municipality of Boxmeer, focused on the 'Art of Believing'.
The Koningskerkje is also part of the legend of Het Duvelsklökske from Sambeek. The priest of the Saint John’s Church was desperately looking for one of the brand new church bells from the Saint John’s tower. The small bell had been swallowed by the devil and had since disappeared. During his search, he also passes by the Koningskerkje.
