Contraband was often collected from a barn or stable near a farm. Perhaps smugglers once came to the monumental farmhouse that now houses brasserie and restaurant Kiekenhoeve.
While enjoying delicious dishes and drinks from the extensive menu here, you look out from the covered terrace on the old carts of the adjacent Cart Museum. Until the mid-20th century, border traffic consisted of farm carts and wagons that could smuggle bigger and heavier loads.
Will you smuggle the dessert back to the Netherlands?
