Karmel Monastery Drachten - Drachten
Until August 6, 1993, the Karmel Monastery from 1935 was still in use as a monastery for the discalced Karmelietessen. In the courtyard with the large walled castle garden you can see that the architect took the medieval monasteries as an example. Visit the Karmel Monastery during the summer months and admire the beautiful monastery garden while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. In the months of July and August, in good weather conditions, there are 2 open air concerts in the garden every week with a wide variety of music.
