House Sonneveld is a museum residence, found on the edge of the Museumpark in Rotterdam. In the early 1930s, the property was designed by architects Brinkman & Van der Vlugt, who also designed the Van Nelle Factory and the Feyenoord Stadium. In collaboration with W.H. Gispen, they also developed the interior.
The Sonneveld family was a prominent Rotterdam family that embraced Modernism. This choice influenced their daily living environment. In their former home, one of the best surviving houses in the Nieuwe Bouwen style, see how the architecture, the art and utensils enriching the interior and the family's life were intertwined.
