Hotel and Restaurant Het Wapen van Medemblik has existed since May 1, 1854. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of the Oosterhaven. In 1289, Medemblik was the first in West Friesland to receive city rights from Count Floris V and in 1294 a seal with a coat of arms to show to the public. The effigy of the Weapon has changed over the centuries and how the Weapon of today originated is still unknown.
