De Hofstede in Naarden, located on Flevolaan, has a history dating back to the 16th century. Back then, the estate was a centre for agriculture and farms, owned by influential families such as the Hinlopens. In the 19th century, the Hofstede came into the hands of the Bredius family, who expanded and beautified the land, preserving much of its natural beauty to this day.
In the 20th century, the Hofstede became known as Melkerij Oud-Bussem, a progressive dairy producer supplying natural milk. Innovative barn techniques and strict hygiene regulations ensured high-quality milk production. This concept attracted a lot of attention and made the Hofstede an example in the dairy industry.
From 1969 until 2024, the Hofstede had an important place in the radio landscape. Radio Noordzee International broadcast from here. Around the turn of the century, stations such as Veronica, SLAM! and 100% NL also started broadcasting from here. From October 2024, it serves as office space and the radio stations moved to Amsterdam.
