Divided over two splendid locations, the cultural heritage of Hoeksche Waard is being preserved for the inhabitants of the island and beyond. You will find part of the Hoeksche Waard Museum in 't Hof van Assendelft, an impressive country estate dating from 1767. It was built by order of the last Lady of the Crafts of Heinenoord, Sara Louisa du Faget van Asssendelft. If you cycle or walk along the cycle and footpath, you will come to the seventeenth-century 'Oost-Leeuwenstein' farm. This monumental farmhouse forms together with 't Hof van Assendelft Musuem Hoeksche Waard. Visiting the museum is currently only possible at location Herenboerderij Oost-Leeuwenstein by booking in advance through the website.
