Hoedekenskerke station was a station of the former Railway Company Zuid-Beveland. On 18 May 1927, three tram lines were opened on Zuid-Beveland. The routes were not a success due to competition from the buses. As early as 1932, the number of services on the route was drastically reduced. Mere goods traffic continued until 1971.

A number of Zeelanders managed to save a route in 1972 with the Stichting Stoomtrein Goes-Borsele (SGB) by starting tourist train rides on the Goes-Hoedekenskerke-Goes tram line. The steam train rides through the fruit orchards are a huge success and run all year round. In the grounds behind the station, you will find an old steam locomotive and a train compartment.
