Aalsmeer, a name that is inextricably linked with flowers and plants. Of course, the cultivation of flowers did not come into being overnight. In the 17th century, people concentrated on growing fruit trees. At the end of the 19th century, growers in Aalsmeer switched to growing flowers outdoors and shortly afterwards to growing flowers in greenhouses. The Historical Garden takes you back in time and shows the rich history of Aalsmeer from around 1700 to 1940.
