Bellinckhof estate, located in Almelo, is a beautiful country house built in the 1920s by the well-known textile manufacturer Johannes ten Cate. The house was designed in a stylish Um 1800 architectural style with English influences, to a joint design by architects Karel Muller and Johan Wilhelm Hanrath. Bellinckhof still exudes a stately elegance, with refined details such as a dining room panelled with mahogany and a marble floor in the entrance hall. Although the mansion is not open to the public, it remains an impressive example of Twente's industrial history and family heritage.
Surrounding the mansion is a beautifully landscaped park, designed by renowned landscape architect Leonard Springer. The gardens combine geometric rose beds with a natural, landscaped style, with winding paths and groups of trees surrounding the estate. Although parts of the original design have been simplified over the years, the park is still a beautiful addition to Bellinckhof's architecture.
