Have you ever stood in a trench? Here you can. This trench was part of the stop line and filled with (often untrained) men during the Battle of Grebbeberg. On May 13, 1940, these men looked into the eyes of the German soldiers. Three days later, all you found here were over-tired, disorganized and psychologically broken Dutch soldiers. It seems such a peaceful place now, but it was a battlefield where you could feel the panic and smell the fearful sweat.
