The Great Church on the Voorstraat in Vianen was founded in the 13th century by Hubrecht van Vianen. After a fire in 1540, the church is rebuilt in its current form with the support of Reinoud III van Brederode (a combination of hall church and cross church).
In the Great Church is the "Brederode chapel" containing a, for the Netherlands, unique grave monument: the grave of Reinoud III van Brederode and his wife Philippote van der Marck. They were the parents of Hendrik van Brederode, 'de Grote Geus'.
