The Googer Mill, dating from 1717, is a large round, conical masonry windmill and is situated on the Ringvaart of the Haarlemmermeer.
The windmill currently serves as an auxiliary pumping station for the Googerpolder and is used in the event of extreme flooding or when the pumping station is not working. The Googerpolder has a surface area of 270 hectares and the lift height is 4.30 metres. Water displacement: 30,000 litres per minute!
