The Frans Kok Reef is a popular dive site, named after the first diving entrepreneur in Zeeland: Frans Kok. From the diving jetty, constructed in 2008, you can jump into the water as a diver.
Once underwater, you see a fascinating world consisting of remnants of old dykes and beautiful reefballs. Reefballs are kind of hollow concrete balls with holes in them, where fish and other aquatic animals can hide. The reefballs are soon overgrown by various aquatic plants, which fish can feed on and hide in. This promotes conservation in fragile reefs.
Here you will find many lobsters, crabs and pipefish. Flatfish and eels also live in the water. The Hill of Dreischor is a little to the left from the jetty and is a dive object you won't want to skip. Here you will see a colourful reef full of beautiful aquatic plants and lots of marine animals.
Did you expect that, now that you are looking at the Grevelingen from the dike?
