The building on Van Cleeffkade in Aalsmeer, opened in 1928, began as a flower auction for the Central Aalsmeer Auction. Designed by J.F. Staal, it included three large halls, a service house and a tall tower. Due to the growing flower trade, the auction moved to a larger location.
After 1983, Joop van den Ende took over the building and transformed it into television studios, known as Studios Aalsmeer. This became the setting for popular programmes such as the 1,2,3 Show and Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden. In 1994, Van den Ende merged with John de Mol to form Endemol. Today, the property is used for business events and entertainment by Crown Business Studios, including TV productions such as The Voice Kids.
