Floating boulder - Dalfsen
De Zwevende Kei (The Floating Boulder) by artist Bas Maters is not to be missed. Since 2002, the giant boulder has been balancing on a chunk of a classical column, which in turn stands on an artificial grass mound. To get a better view of the boulder, you may climb the hill. The view of the surroundings from the top is impressive.
Sheep keep the grass on the hill short and seek shade under the boulder on summer days. The floating boulder is one of the works of art you will come across on the "Vechtdal Overijssel art roads cycling or walking tour". This is a 180-kilometre route along 80 art objects that follows the Overijsselse Vecht.
