Farm shop de Grote Koekoek is an oasis of peace and craft in the picturesque Leuvenum. Most products in the shop come directly from our own farm or are carefully selected from nearby suppliers.
Recently, the farm shop has a milk tap where everyone can tap fresh milk from its own cows! By inserting the appropriate money, you tap the milk into your own bottle. Don't have your own bottle in your pannier? No problem, the Grote Koekoek also has glass litre bottles for sale. A litre of milk costs 1 euro, you can always tap more or less. The shop is open Monday to Saturday between 07:00 and 19:00. Besides fresh milk, the Grote Koekoek sells potatoes, onions, apples, eggs and beef. Payment can be made by cash or easily by pin.
The Grote Koekoek's fresh milk is not processed or pasteurised. Nothing has been added, so it is purely natural. The taste of the milk is different from what you are used to. This is because the fat and protein content in the fresh milk is higher. Milk from the supermarket is standardised, the milk from the Grote Koekoek always has a slightly different composition. This is due to the cows' feed. In winter, the milk often has a higher fat content than in summer, when the cows walk in the meadow and eat a lot of fresh grass.
