Located on the banks of the IJ River in Amsterdam, the Eye Film Museum is a must-visit for film buffs and culture enthusiasts. Designed by renowned architecture firm Delugan Meissl, this impressive, futuristic building has been an iconic part of the city since it opened in 2012. Inside, Eye offers a fascinating world of film history with a collection of more than 55,000 films, tens of thousands of film posters and unique historical film photographs. Four major exhibitions are organised here every year, bringing the magic of film to life in a unique way.

Besides the inspiring exhibitions, Eye has four movie theatres where you can enjoy everything from arthouse films to restored classics. The permanent exhibition ‘What is film?’ lets visitors discover the evolution of the medium through interactive installations. The museum bustles with educational programmes, events and festivals such as the renowned IDFA. Complete your visit with a drink in the café-restaurant with breathtaking views over the IJ River.
