The Hollands Schwarzwald is a nature reserve in Overijssel, near Rijssen. This hilly forest landscape, reminiscent of Germany's Black Forest, was created during World War I by labour supply projects that used workers to plant trees. Today, it consists of vast beech and conifer forests with several hiking and cycling trails. The area is popular with hikers, cyclists and nature lovers who want to enjoy the peace and scenery.
