The Dinkel is the link that connects the two communities of Gronau (Germany) and Losser (the Netherlands). But thanks to the little river, Germany and the Netherlands are also connected. At this point, moreover, the Dinkel is connected to the Omleidingskanaal, a canal that merges again with the meandering Dinkel a few kilometres north near Lattrop.

This Dinkelstein symbolises these relationships and is therefore called ‘The Relationship’ or ‘Band’.
