De Ulebelt city farm - Deventer

De Ulebelt is an educational city farm located in the green oasis of the Gooikerspark, in De Vijfhoek district of Deventer. The grounds of over 7 hectares offer a varied range of animal pastures, themed gardens, play areas, and a terrace where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

The petting zoo is home to a variety of farm animals. Chickens, sheep, goats, pigs and cows quietly scratch around here. Here, the farm demonstrates the relationship between fertile soil and food production. For instance, they work here without artificial fertilisers or synthetic pesticides, but simply with manure from their own animals. In addition, much attention is paid to housing and caring for the animals, so that they can feel completely at home here. This has led to the farm being awarded an EKO label for their products, such as meat, fruit and flowers.

The themed gardens on the property run from neatly landscaped to more natural and are laid out with eco-friendly materials. These gardens are a source of inspiration for creating your own nature-friendly garden. By using native plants and amenities such as a hedgehog house, branch pile and a pond with a spot for frogs and salamanders, they attract both people and animals. The gardens are a nice place to unwind and perhaps discover something special while walking or just sitting quietly.
