The Peel region has its own story. No wonder there is a museum that has compiled this history. This is the place to discover what life was like in this region full of peat bogs, peat cutters and hard-working farmers.
The museum houses an impressive collection of old tools, machines, utensils and objects used on the farmland and in peat extraction. From the hard labour on the land to life in and around the Peel region, here you get a tangible picture of daily life in those days.
What makes this museum extra special is the way in which the stories come to life. Using paintings by artist Hein van Well and an interactive presentation with contemporary images, you are taken into the history of the reclamation projects, peat excavations and the old boundaries that have shaped the landscape and the people.
