De Driehoek dairy farm - Oosterhout

N 51.6387154 / E 4.8772388

In a special place, the monastery grounds of Sint Paulus Abbey in Oosterhout, lies the farm of the Wismans family. The abbey is part of De Heilige Driehoek in Oosterhout. Until 2005, the Benedictine fathers lived here, until then also owners of the farm, which was leased and run by the Wismans family and the Hoeks family. Then another religious community moved into the monastery, the Chemin Neuf. Thanks to this community, the farm can still be continued in this beautiful location, since 2014 by Anke Wismans and her family.

At De Driehoek, quality always comes before quantity and the welfare of the cows is also paramount. Anke's partner Maarten van Fessem is the driving force behind the cheese factory and makes the tastiest cheeses in Oosterhout. They make two types of abbey cheeses, including the Benedictus, a unique red flora cheese matured in the cellars of St Paul's Abbey. It is the only red flora cheese in the Netherlands made in this way!

They also make artisan Gouda abbey cheese, which is deliciously creamy and free of E-numbers thanks to the high quality milk, and various herbal cheeses.

The farm shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30 am to 5 pm. Open extra on Wednesday evenings from 18.30-19.30.
