Experience the Colonies of Benevolence as if you were there yourself! At Eethuys De Steen, you will make a virtual time travel back to the year 1825.

You arrive as a new colonist in Colony 3 of the Benevolence Society. General Johannes van den Bosch is already waiting for you and will guide you through daily life in 'his' colony.

Learn about this piece of unique Dutch history during this spectacular Virtual Reality experience.

The time travel takes about 8 minutes. Several actors from the theatre show Het Pauperparadijs have recorded the voices of this VR Experience.

Eethuys De Steen is also a special location within the Weldadig Oord, as this eatery has also existed since 1876. So stick around after your VR adventure for a tasty snack and drink. Recommendation: the meatball, voted Golden Meatball by the Telegraaf and the tastiest in the Netherlands.
