Welcome to this wonderful café; a relaxed place where rest is a treat. Onder de Linden is one of the oldest cafes in the Netherlands, formerly on a crucial spot between Rhenen and Wageningen. As a café on the bridge, it was located on busy waterways from the harbour on the Rhine towards Ede and on a bridge towards Rhenen. In the more recent Wageningen past, the café was best known as the café; of the legendary Mies Quint, father of former FC Wageningen goalkeeper Kees Quint.
Now still, Onder de Linden is a lovely place to hang out. At the intersection of several cycle routes, located close to the quiet Binnenveld and between knowledge-intensive companies and residential areas, it is an oasis of calm. Under the trees and Wageningen's chicest veranda, Onder de Linden offers a lovely place to take a breather after a walk or cycle route or to have lunch or drinks with colleagues. While enjoying a delicious drink, it is possible to charge your bike free of charge.
Brewery Onder de Linden was opened in December 1989. It is located in a former sheepfold, which belongs to the premises of Café Onder de Linden. Today, the brewery is located among new housing developments, industry and university complexes, but it used to be on the edge of a vast moorland.
The café, still furnished as it was in the 1950s, serves as a tasting room. It is also the birthplace of the brewery. The brewery's production volume is quite small. Most of the beer leaves the brewery in cask and is available in the Wageningen region.
