Together, the Davidsplassen form one of the larger lakes in the Dwingelderveld. The wet moor attracts many special animal species, including birds. Little grebes breed on the Davidsplassen and you can see spoonbills sitting, but the majestic crane is also regularly spotted here. It is the base of a colony of terns. In winter, large flocks of geese spend the night on the lakes.
Take a look through the peepholes of the bird-watching hut and peer at birds, butterflies and dragonflies.
