The Simon Vestdijk College in Harlingen and the practical training in Leeuwarden have designed and built this bird watching cabin. With a little imagination, you can see an inverted boat with a round bow. The cabin offers a good view over the Hegewiersterfjild with a great wealth of birds, including the oystercatcher, avocet and ringed plover. In spring you can spot ruffs, while in winter many ducks, wigeons and geese find their place here.
The photo of the bird-watching hut was taken by Gerard Roos for Natuurmonumenten.
