The Bergse Heathland is a nature reserve located near Bergen op Zoom. The landscape was created by the centuries-long influence of the sea wind from the southwest, which pushed up the sand into recognisable drifting dunes. To keep that sand together, mixed forest was planted.
There is also room for beautiful fens and vast heathlands, which bloom beautifully in late summer. The great contrast between dry sand dunes and moist clearings, makes the Bergse Heathland a suitable habitat for various plants and animals.
