Belt corn mill Hermien - Harreveld
Belt corn mill ‘Hermien’ is an old mill in Harreveld, Gelderland, which you can visit. It is a special type of mill built in the 19th century. The mill looks very nice, with wooden panels and a roof covered with special wooden boards.
When you visit the mill, you can join guided tours where you will learn all about the history of Harreveld and the important role the mill used to play in grinding food for people and animals. There are also exhibitions and the mill is a popular place for photographs and films.
The mill is owned by a foundation that ensures it is well maintained. Volunteers ensure that the mill is open to visitors. You can also still see how grain was ground there, and sometimes even grain is still ground for cattle feed.
