Arns water buffalo farm - Zevenaar
Before 2003, the Gert-Jan and Anita Arns knew the water buffalo mainly as an impressive animal from the zoo. Meanwhile, the Arns family's Water Buffalo Farm has a herd of more than 250 water buffalo. These friendly animals stay in potting stables in winter, but in spring and summer they have the choice to go outside or still prefer to stay inside.
In the shop at the farm, you can buy mozzarella, bufaletta or yoghurt made from buffalo milk, which is rich in omega 3 and 6. The milk also contains more calcium, proteins and vitamins than cow's milk. The meat has a remarkably low cholesterol and calorie content and is very tasty.
You can come and admire the buffaloes during opening hours.
