Lunteren, Scherpenzeel, Renswoude, Woudenberg

Discover the region's rich history on this unique cycle route that takes you past the charming village of Woudenberg. Along the way you will pass the impressive Grebbe Line, a defence line that preceded the Hollandic Waterline and was based on the deliberate flooding of an area. In and around Woudenberg you will find many national monuments, testifying to a rich and fascinating past.

Continue your cycle route and you will also pass through the historic village of Scherpenzeel. Despite the devastation during the Second World War, there are still a few monumental buildings in the village. In addition to these protected monuments, Scherpenzeel also has a number of trees with historical, scenic or ecological value.

Another special place you will pass on this route is the village of De Glind. This is where children who have been removed from their families are traditionally taken in by foster families. There are various (youth) care institutions active here and the Rudolph Foundation manages a large number of the buildings. The village is also known as ‘Jeugddorp De Glind’.
